Life Skills Task Box Ideas/Autism/Structured Teaching

Putting Caps on Pens

Activity:
The student needs to put the caps on pens and then place the pens in a bucket when they are done. The pictures to the left show the steps to complete the task. This helps provide a visual schedule for the student so that they understand what to do. The activity is complete when all caps are on the pens. This is also a great fine motor activity!

Variations:
- Use one color pen so that the student does not have to sort colors
- Use different color pens so that they student works on sorting colors. You may need to have different color bins that correspond with each color of pen to help the child understand how to sort by color.
